Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Molestation charges

If my relative has been accused of molestation taking place 7 years ago, how much do I need to retain an attorney? How much time might it take to fight the charges?

Re: Molestation charges

The person charged (not you) should start calling criminal defense attorneys in his locality and make appointments for in-person consultations without delay.

Re: Molestation charges

Molestation or rape charges may be brought within six years of the offense since these can carry a sentence of eight or more years. The statute of limitations may, however, be tolled giving the DA more time to bring charges.

We are an exclusive Criminal Defense firm and handle sexual molestation cases all over the country.

He should also talk with a civil attorney, because although a statute of limitations would generally apply, the past few years has had a lot of new law in regards to these charges.
