Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Release of intimate tape

I am writing to find out my options about an intimate tape my ex-boyfriend and I made. It was done about 4 yrs ago at my home. He has taken the tape out of my house and will not return it. He has gone so far as to tell me at 0145 one morning, that he will give me the tape and come get it. Then he ''changed'' his mind once I got there. He wouldn't answer the phone or door. He even went so far as to give me the wrong tape!! Intentionally mean; premeditated. He has told me he has shown it people and threatens to post it publicly.

What can I do to prevent him from doing this? I know he has uploaded it on his computer because he tried to send it to me! I am fearful that he will release it and it will ruin my career. I have two children and they would be affected to. Please advise me on this, Thank you so much.

Re: Release of intimate tape

You probably have a case against him for conversion, as well as a few other civil remedies. You may also need to get a restraining order that prevents him from showing the tape, using the tape or distributing the tape. You can reach my office at 916 247 6868 for a free consultation.
