Re: sex crimes

If you're asking if you can retroactively go back and get a 'redo' on your sentence, the answer is no; that's what appeals were for if you were convicted at trial. If you pled to a deal, you get to live with your bargain.

If your felony was for one of the code sections that it sounds like, expungment will not be possible; the legislature determined they didn't want sex offenders expunging their records. Now, your recourse would be to bring an appropriate motion in court seeking removal of the sex offender registration, with evidence and supporting documentation that you think would convince a judge you deserve special treatment and sympathy because of special circumstances. You could also try to obtain a governor's pardon, but that is a difficult and costly process that seldom succeeds, requiring compelling evidence of an 'injustice' being done you that needs correction. If you think you can provide that kind of argument, and are willing to spend the fees that it will take to try, feel free to contact me.
