Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Steps to Expungement

In 2000 I had a Felony Meth Possession. I was sentenced to a rehab and joint suspended probation. I violated in 2003 and was givien drug court with the promise of it being dismissed. It wasn't apparently because it was a post conviction plea.

I'd like to know step by step what I have to do to expunge it myself. I don't have a lot of money for a lawyer. How much does the court charge? What is the process?

Re: Steps to Expungement

contact the local probation department and request a form to expunge your record. Fill out the form and return it to the probation department with the required fee. In a bout 90 days you should receive notice as to whether or not it was expunged.
