If it is a union job and the union dress-code in the union contract does not state anything about earrings, but the management team is telling you that man can not wear earrings but women can. Is this acceptable?

Re: one more question

Whether or not it is a union job, it is against the law in California to prohibit an item of dress (such as an earring) for only one gender.

The restriction also suggests an underlying policy of discrimination against people who are, or who are perceived as being, gay or bisexual, which is also against the law in California.
