Your boyfriend should absolutely have an attorney at his side. I have seen these things snowball.

He does not want to get caught with his pants down, or it could be much longer than a week you are without him, up to a year.

Call me for a free consultation.

I do believe having an attorney with you is a great advantage.

Is his court date an arraignment? If so, it is unlikely that he would have to miss his flight. Just be sure to not miss any court dates.

I would have him talk to an attorney right away in order to fight the case effectively. I know paying for a lawyer is a hassle but it is a small price to pay when that lawyer can save you from going to jail.

If you are extremely strapped for money and absolutely cannot pay for an attorney, a Public Defender will be appointed to you.

If you would like to talk about this case in detail do not hesitate to contact me. I handle cases throughout southern California.
