Legal Question in DUI Law in California

dui while on probation

i am on felony probation in conta costa county for a domestic violence charge which I was sentenced in Dec. of 2003, and just recently i aquired a dui charge in san joaquin county. what can i expect, and approx. how much jail time.. where is my near future headed because of this mistake? I know i will be violated, but what does that mean?

Your probation probably requires that you "obey all laws" etc. and a DUI charge could be an infraction, a misdemeanor or felony. It is not likely that your probation will be violated, but it is possible. In the worst case, I don't see you spending more than 30 days in jail, but that's a worst case. More troublesome will be having your license suspended or revoked if this DUI is your third in 5 years. You should consult an attorney and disclose everything about this DUI to get the best advice.
