Legal Question in DUI Law in California

Failure to appear on Misdemeanor DUI?

I have a warrant for failing to appear for a Misdemeanor DUI I got in December of 2000. It is in Contra Costa County. I will fear for my life if I have to go to jail/court because of enemies I have made there. I wrote a letter to the Judge but the Judge never wrote back. I live in another state.

Is there anyway I can find a lawyer that will help me, Pro Bono or through reasonable monthly payments, so I can get my drivers license back? Could you also tell me how much time I am facing and any other important info I should know.

I know it would be better to have a lawyer represent me instead of turning myself in and going through a Public Defender. Not having a license is stressing me out because I can only get jobs that I can bike to, etc.

Unless you can retain an attorney to appear for you and get this matter cleared up your only choice would be to come back to California and surrender.
