Legal Question in DUI Law in California

Leash law violation

While searching the database of our county's superior court, we discovered that a warrant was issued for my wife in 1994 (FTA PC853.7) in relation to a ticket she recieved for our dog getting loose. She said that she paid the fine. Is there a statute of limitations for that offense? She remembers paying the fine, but in case we can't find proof, is there a statute of limitations, or should we call the court to see if there is still a warrant active?

Thanks, Rudy

Re: Leash law violation

Warrants are forever, and that is what the FTA resulted in. But, if she goes to court with any evidence of payment, it will be cleared up. Find the cancelled check - call the bank for a copy. If no evidence exists, then try to convince the court to be lenient to a 'good citizen'. Remember the court records show no payment, so merely saying it was paid is not credible without proof.
