Legal Question in DUI Law in California

probation violation

i received a second dui approx. 1 year ago. terms of probation were that i attend 18 months dui classes and make payments to the court. I made as many payments as possible but haven't been able to keep them up. Also because I live in a very rural area, have no car or liscense or public transit system I wasn't able to attend the dui classes. I have to go to court in February. What do you think I am looking at? Thanks.

Re: probation violation

When you go back to court explain your situation to the court. Request a change in the terms of your probation removing the class. You will not be eligible for a new driver's license until you complete the class.

Re: probation violation

It depends upon how the court will receive your explanation. I have found that repersented defendants are received better than non-represented defendants or those with public defenders. Sad but true, you will do better with a retained attorney. Call me directly at (619) 222-3504.
