Legal Question in Elder Law in California

Alleged elder abuse

Because of a masive heart attack and stroke, My mother in law has been placed in a care facility. My wife was finally able to get financial help for her mother after 30 years of living on the street of her own free will. Her mother authorized her to use the money for her mothers expences while living with us, befor the heart attack, and further to use her money to buy a reliable used car to visit her mother, and use it for her own needs. A new ombudsman made her mother to sign 'something' and told her that her daughter may go to jail for using her money. What can we do?

Re: Alleged elder abuse

Hire her an attorney, unless she thinks she can 'play' attorney against a professional prosecutor. If the case is in SoCal, feel free to contact me if serious about doing so.
