Legal Question in Family Law in California

50-50 Joint child custody

I have 50% custody of my 7 year old son who spends alternate weeks with me and my ex-wife. When I am on travel during my week of custody, my current wife takes care of my son. Do I need permission from my ex-wife to leave my son with his step-mom during my absence from home? Thanks.

Re: 50-50 Joint child custody

The answer depends upon the terms of the custody and visitation order. Generally the custodial parent can make arrangements for daycare of the child while the child is in that parent's custody. Some orders allow the other parent the right to have the child with them during the time the other parent is out of town overnight for two or more days.
