Legal Question in Family Law in California
Can an old acquaintance serve as a divorce mediator? An old coworker of my mother's whom I haven't seen since I was a child is now a lawyer, would she still be considered neutral? Neither my mother or I have seen her in 20+ years. Also, would she have to disclose to my soon to be ex?

It certainly should be disclosed. Would you want to know if the party was friends with the mediator? I bet you would and would scream bloody murder if things didn't go your way.
