Legal Question in Family Law in California

Annulment criteria in California

I understand grounds for annulment in CA are biggotry, one partner being underage, fraud et al. I wondered if there is any information online of *examples* of fraud? If your partner lied about wanting children, or if they are gay, in severe debt, spent time in jail. Are those examples of fraud? I plan to consult an attorney but I wanted to know the facts before I potentially waste my time and the attorneys time. Thank you!

Re: Annulment criteria in California

Annulment actions are very fact specific. Fraud usually would go to the heart of the marriage contract, for example, a failure to co-habitate or to consumate the marriage would be grounds. The examples listed in your inquirey may rise to that standard. How long was the marriage? Why not dissolution or legal separation? Call me directly at (619) 222-3504.
