Legal Question in Family Law in California

Ever gone up against this attorney?

I was advised that it would be to my benefit to have my own attorney since the NCP has hired one of his own. If you have gone up against Thomas Gilmore with the commissioner being Patricia Garcia, please let me know what your rates are or if it's a one-time payment. I know there is no guarantee for any case to win, I just want someone who has an idea how these two ''work.'' Thank you.

Re: Ever gone up against this attorney?

Tom Gilmore is an experienced attorney, although he is not a family law specialist (as I am). Don't see him very much in family courts, but occasionally. Nice enough guy.

You may or may not need an attorney, depending on the issues involved. The DA will try to present your case for you.

Patty Garcia is a pretty good jurist. She is a commissioner but just got appointed as a Superior Court judge. So depending on when you go to court, you may be in front of the newly appointed commissioner, Adam Wertheimer. Adam's a good guy.

My retainer is $2,500.00 normally, earned at $250/hour, plus any costs.

Re: Ever gone up against this attorney?

I ditto the remarks of Attorney Kremer. I have been in front of Commissioner Garcia many times. Adam Wertheimer is a quality person and an experienced family law attorney, I anticipate that he will make an excellent commissioner. My fees for DCSS matters (I am assuming this is at DCSS) range from $950 to $1500, unless the matter gets complicated, and my hourly rate is $250 per hour. You may call my office for an initial free consultation. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
