California common law.

Does California have ''common law'' pertainning to how long you live with your girl friend and how long is it before she can nail you on it?

One cannot ENTER into a common-law marriage in Cal, however, if that was done in a sTaTe that does allow it, and ONE LATER MOVES to Cal, then it will be a valid marriage in California. THE MAXIM IS " A MARRIAGE,IF VALID WHERE PERFORMED, IS VALID EVERYWHERE".

California does not recognize common law marriage.

However, with your attitude maybe she will get lucky and can get you under the Marvin Travolta partnership theory.

there is no common law marriage in CA. bang her all you want and never have to worry about spousal support. just dont knock her up because she can get child support.
