Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child born into religion-necessary to attend sunday school?

There is a 13 year-old girl I know who was born into a religion. She doesn't mind her religion, except her parents force her to attend Sunday School every sunday, which she hates. If she refuses to go, her parents will simply ground her, which she doesn't want either. My question is if she refuses to go, would it be fair for her parents to ground her?

Unlike the other attorney I am no sorry to say that they have the right to tell her to go to church and punish her if she did not go. A 13 year old is not old enough to make those decisions and should be given no sympathy for wanting to defy her parents. If she doesn't "mind her religion" I would bet there is a part that tells her that she should honor her father and mother. Pat McCrary
