child protective services want to interview my child with out me being present, what are my rights as a parent?

Child protective certainly do have the power to interview the child without a parent being present. The reason for this is so that the child may speak freely about his/her concerns. If you believe DCFS will take the matter further you should retain an attorney at the earliest opportunity to assist you.
