Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child support

I wanted to know, my boyfriend has a child with another woman, who recently got married to an ex-con and is pregnant with his child, under the courts, it states that the mother has to provide for medical insurance for the child, which she doesn't because she quit her job to be home with the baby to come. My question is can she go for more money from the biological father (my boyfriend) for their one child if she qualifies for welfare?

Re: Child support

She does not have a right to quit her job and be supported by welfare. I would file a motion for a child support modification if she quits her job, and seek employment efforts for her. A family law facilitator can assist you with that.

Good luck,
