Legal Question in Family Law in California

custody papers

One year ago my childs father and I filled out court papers giving me sole custody of our son. Since then I have been temporarily transfered overseas and everytime I have any paperwork to do with my son (such as passport) I must have his fathers signature. Since I have sole custody isn't there anyway around this as it can take days to get a hold of him. Should I have recieved papers from the court stating that I have sole custody, if so how so I go about getting them? Thank you for your time.

Re: custody papers

You will need a certified court order giving you sole legal and physical custody.
