Legal Question in Family Law in California

My dad forced me to change my school classes with out consulting my mom. They have a 60% (dad) 40% (mom) physical custody. and joint legal custody. Does this violate the custody agreement?

I am 17 years old and a senor in High School

This is just a small part of a battle, I am trying to find a way to move into my moms and have her gain full custody.

Thank you,

Christopher Chesler

Joint legal custody requires that parents discuss the "health, education and welfare" of the child(ren), so in my opinion, yes, it violates the court order. Talk to your mom, see if she is willing to step in and try to help you get to take the classes you want. Sorry, but that's about the best I can tell you unfortunately.

A big part of the problem is you're 17 and court proceedings take time, so to "solve" the problems, you could easily be 18 and legally entitled to make your own decisions by the time they get resolved by a court. You don't have that much longer, stay patient. In the scheme of things, your high school classes aren't going to define you anyway.
