divorce

i had to ammend the petition for divorce twice, my ex was served all paperwork, we went to the first court hearing to set up child support, custody and visitation, all was granted and settled concerning our child. now, he has pulled a dissapearing act and i had our divorce entered into default ( there is no property or debt to divide), i set up a court date for feb. 8th 2008 and had all my final paperwork set up/filled out by free attorney clinic, so everything is ready to go, but what if he doesnt show up? the first paperwork was filed in feb 2007, it has been well over 6 months, but there was a couple of ammends, can i get the divorce finalized on my feb 8th court date??

i want to get married on feb29th 2008, will the divorce be done???

Re: divorce

I would not plan a wedding for the day after you are "hoping" to be divorced. Yes, there's a good chance that you will be divorced, but a lot of times paperwork gets screwed up and rejected by the clerk. I would wait until the divorce is final before I planned a wedding.
