Legal Question in Family Law in California

un divorce!

I was 'divorced' 11 years ago, went to court with my attorney and husband. I saw my attorney yesterday to file for my portion of my husband's retirement. My attorney informed me I was not divorced. She said she had a turnover in help that year and somehow the final papers were never completed. Neither of us has remarried, she wants me to start the proceedings from the beginning. Please advise.

Thank you.

My advice would be to seek the opinion of another attorney. Mistakes do happen, but this is a pretty big mistake. Pat McCrary

I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless! Do not return to the same attorney!
