Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am considering a divorce. Due to my husband having an affair. I have been married to him for 8 yrs. I just wanted to know what am I intiled to? Can I get money out of his paycheck every month? I heard I am intiled to some of his retirement is this true? We don't have children. The house is in his name. When he bought it we were not married. That same year we got married. I have helped him pay the morgage and all the bills 50/50. When ever we wanted to remodle or fix things I always helped contribute 50/50. I feel like I diserver half of the house. I have been paying the morgage with my bank. I have old check recipts to prove it. What am I intiled too?

How much does a divorce cost? How long does it take?

You are entitled to an interest in the house and his retirement, but what exactly that interest is depends on what was paid on the house from community property funds (among other things) and what accrued/was paid into the retirement. The cost of the divorce (dissolution) depends upon how much time it takes. In other words, if there are multiple disputes that have to be litigated, it could be very expensive, if everyone sits down and is reasonable, provides the information necessary to determine the issues, it could be relatively quick (few months) and not very costly (from an attorney perspective).
