Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have been divorced for 5 years. I recently went back to court to change our custody arragement to 50/50. We went to court and had a mediation appointment. Our next court date is this week to get an order from the judge. My ex has recently obtained a lawyer for our custody/support case. Who pays for the attorney's fees?

Your ex does, unless they request and get an order that you pay some or all of the fees. The request would have to be based either on evidence of a significant disparity in incomes or assets such that it would be unfair for them to pay their own fees, or based on some serious misconduct on your part that forced them to incur the fees.
