Half sister custody possibilities
Hello. I'm a 26 year old female with a 12 year old half-sister. We have the same mother who passed away 9 years ago. Her father was being civil with me until recently and now I fear he will stop allowing me to see her. So I'm wondering what my possibilities are of gaining some kind of set custody or visitation mandate. I currently live in suffolk county new york, however she lives in riverside california. New York law provides for visitation between siblings, but you will need to consult a lawyer in California, since that is your sister's "home state".
