Legal Question in Family Law in California

Health Insurance for soon to be ex husbands illegitamate child

Im in California. Currently my soon to be ex husband (divorce finalizaiton pending) is on my health insurance. My soon to be ex husband has impregnated another woman and has a new child (he also has a paternity test pending results for this child) however, he wants to have this child placed on my health insurance to cover the child as I do believe it is his. Confusing yes. Is it possible for him to do this and am I responsible in any way for this child? And am I responsible to place her on my insurance?

When the divorce is final he will no longer be covered by medical insurance provided by your employer. He will qualify for COBRA, this continues his current medical insurance. The premiums for COBRA are generally high. You are not responsible for his child. You are not related to the child and have no financial responsibility for that child.
