Legal Question in Family Law in California

How much Longer

I actually have 2 questions...1) our divorce hearing was in late june with judgements for support and visitation, how long before I am officlally divorced? Or am I already officially divorced? 2) my ex is concerned about me living with my girlfriend who--name removed--soon be my fiance, she is threatening to not allow my kids to stay over night with us. My GF is a great person, with no problems at all, my ex is just upset and still bitter over a 2 year divorce, does she have any ground to stop my kids from staying over? the kids are 4 yrs and 17 months

Re: How much Longer

If you have orders (distinct from a judgment) for support and visitation, you still have property distributions to address. This means you are certainly not done and you are likely not divorced, absent a status only judgment. As far as how long it will take from here, I could only guess at an answer with more information.

Regardless, it sounds as if your ex may want to re-open the custody situation. Unless there's something else you're not mentioning, her not liking your girlfriend is not a valid reason to prevent overnights.

My rates are very reasonable and I am available for a free consultation.
