Legal Question in Family Law in California

miscarriage liability - medical bill payments by sperm doner

Am I liable for her medical bills?

Hi I'm in a situation, where a girl I slept with once, who she says one on the pill, and thus proceeded to do the deed. She says, she got pregnant by me and asked me for the money for an abortion. I obliged. She then said she decided to keep the baby and a week later she said there was a miscarriage. She now wants me to pay her medical bills or at least half. I doubt everything she said now...and don't want anything to do with her.

Am I liable for her medical bills?

It is highly doubtful that you are liable. You can test her mettle by asking her to send you the medical reocrds, receipts or some kind of documentation. If she actually has this kind of information, then hire an attorney to review all documents, do some limited research and draft a letter on your behalf that you are not obliged to pay anything.

Best of Luck.
