Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am in the process of divorcing my husband. In the property settlement, I am to receive his LLC which has a liquor license attached to it. Once the divorce becomes final, what do I need to do to get the liquor license transferred to me in my name only? Can I just show the final divorce judgment signed by the judge to the appropriate authorities?

Transfer of liquor licenses is a tricky business and pretty speciallized legally. Unless you turn up someone who does that specialty here by chance, you really should find a local attorney who does it. You'll probably need to hire one to get the transfer done anyway.

You should apply for the transfer of the liquor license into your name. It cannot be transferred by court order. Approval of the alcohol license board is required for the license to be issued to you.
