Legal Question in Family Law in California

property and assest settlements from a divorce

My wife and I were married six months ago.

She owned a small condo before we were married, and we bought a house about two months before we were married.

I am not on title to the house but we both put money into it and pay the bills, etc.

Am I entitled to split the assets and property 50/50 if we get a divorce, even though she currently is in a stronger financial picture than me right now?

Get a written agreement that says you are entitled to a certain portion of the property based on how much you put into it. While you are at it, get the property put into joint tenancy and then you will have the proper documents in case there is a break up.

Bad question just 6 months into the marriage. Why are you not on purchase. Despite answer, you should be able to share. If she put more investment into it, ie., personal property of her own before marriage, she may receive more out when division. Need to look at all when matter becomes ripe. Need more info.
