Legal Question in Family Law in California

Relinquishment of Paternal RIghts

i am a single mom taking care of a 2 month old baby. I have not asked for any child support. I would rather raise this child on my own. Csn he legally relinquish his paternal rights? He has not provided any child support

No, and I think your approach is selfish. Child support is for the "child", NOT you, that is why it is called "child" support, you have no right to reject it, if you do not want to spend it, put it a college and/or trust fund for the child.

You are forbidden by law from bargaining away the child's right to child support. Father's rights are generally not terminated by the court unless there is an adoptive father in the picture. If he were to sign a paper relinquishing his parental rights to avoid the payment of child support, the court will not look favorably upon him on the issue of visitation.
