Legal Question in Family Law in California

I wonder whether I could request Spousal Support and Child Support not calculated (not filed) in 2006 during legal separation period (6 months). Is it too late to request (file) it now?

You can ask for spousal support if your original petition requested spousal support in the pleadings. If it did not, then you might need to amend your paperwork to request that. However if the judgment went through already then you may be out of luck, because the judgement is a final disposition of your property rights. Your case sounds complex enough that you should consult a local attorney to see what your options are in requesting spousal support.

For self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
