Legal Question in Family Law in California

restraining order

After successfully obtaining a six month restraining order against an ex-girlfriend, I am now served with one myself out of revenge. The seriousness of this matter is the false accusation of, ''...felt like I was raped''. Which I believe was thrown in there for good measure, along with some other childish things. My question to you all is do I need legal rep? Even though she has no police report, medical record, nor did we discontinue the relationship, until two and a half months later. Also I believe I have evidence to contradict her statemets.

Thank you for your time.

Re: restraining order

You have the right to represent yourself. However, represent yourself has some disadvantages. First you are personally involved, which affects you judgment. Second you are not as familar with the rules of evidence as an attorney. An independent view of you case can result in both strengths and weaknesses being seen and taken into to account in presenting your defense.
