Legal Question in Family Law in California

Run away in California

My 15 y/o sister ran away and my mom has informed the local pd. My mom has said that she made her own choices and will let the law handle her. I know she will come with me if I find her. What would be the worst crime I can be charged with if I let her stay with me as opposed to being on the street? My mom said to leave her out there but I can't do it. BTW.. I'm 33. What can I do?

Don't know about worse crime. You'd have to ask a criminal law attorney. As the older sister, you might want to consider becoming her legal guardian.
