Legal Question in Family Law in California

single unmarried woman

hi atty. im--name removed-- 8 months pregnant not married to the father of the baby, never have a husband. And the the baby will be born next month and the father of the baby is outside the country, but we do have communication and he wants that, the family name of the baby should be his family name. Is there any chance that I can do like that even if he is not around? or what should be the best thing to do, to have the baby his family name?

Re: single unmarried woman

You can have his name placed on the birth certificate at birth or after birth.

As always please consult an attorney in your area before you take action.

Good luck.
