Legal Question in Family Law in California

In the state of California, if you recently went to court and judge ordered a spouse to pay back child and spousal support. Judge stated the spouse can make payments until caught up, but ASAP. Can the other spouse charge interest on back pay. The judge said nothing about interest being accrued.
