support obligation ends soon

my spousal support obligation is to end in may 2002. my employer states i need an amendment to stop the spousal portion of wage garnishment. (child support will continue). can i do this myself? and how? if i need legal help, would a paralegal suffice. i can't locate the lawyer who handled the divorce.

You or a paralegal can do this, most likely. You will need to see a judge at the court where the original order was made and get an order directing your employer to cease withhold for spousal support but continue for child support in whatever amount has been ordered.

Don't be surprised if your ex seeks to increase child support.
