Legal Question in Family Law in California

My wife filed for a legal seperation about 4 months ago. I just got back from working for three months out of state and she had all my belongings in the garage. She asked me to move out. I did without creating any trouble. I am now laidoff again. What exactly does the legal seperation mean to me? Am I legally seperated / divorced until the divorce papers get signed. Is it considered an affair if she's dating? Thank you for your time in advance

You are not legally divorced or legally separated until you receive a judgment from the court to that effect. It does not matter if she is having an affair as California is a no fault state and it is irrelevant to the divorce. It may be relevant if somehow if you have children.
