A minor child cannot simply choose to leave home and live where she wants. The parent, absent some circumstance, has control over the child and is responsible for her welfare and support.

If the child were to become an 'emancipated minor', that is, the child is recognized as an adult in the eyes of the law, then she can determine where she wants to live. This is a time consuming and expensive process that requires court intervention. Bottom line, any such action is not likely to happen before the 16 year old becomes 18.

The real solution may be to get some family counseling.

Good Luck.
