Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

California: I sued 4 defendants, they hired 1 attorney, the attorney filed a demurrer, I am going to file Objection to demurrer. My question is do I serve the objection to the attorney or to the defendants or to defendants and the attorney?

You don't object to a demurrer. You file a memorandum of points and authorities in opposition to a demurrer, or you move to strike the demurrer. Those get served by mail on the attorney who appeared on behalf of the defendants.

Mr. Roach is right. If there are any other defendants whom this lawyer doesn't represent, you must also serve them (or their lawyers).

You can also file and serve an amended complaint instead of responding to the demurrer (assuming you know what you are doing).

Any time a party appears in a case through their attorney, the other parties to the case can serve everything by mail on that attorney going forward.
