Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Co-worker in accounting discloses confidental information and slanders my husban

A woman I have known for a long time came to work in accounting at a company my husband works for. She signed an agreement to keep employee information private, yet she then told a mutual friend what my husband makes, proceed to make false negative comments about him, and when confronted privatly by her supervisor called my husband a liar, this is not the first time she has intentionally tried to harm my families reputation. Does my husband have any legal recourse?
