Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I am to be deposed in a few weeks. I am not a party in the case. The deposition requires me to produce many documents. I believe that some of these documents are not relevant to the case and are an invasion of my privacy. Is there any way to challenge the requirement to produce these documents before the deposition?

Yes you may challenge the production of documents on relevancy grounds. Depending upon the matter at issue, you should strongly consider being represented by an attorney at the deposition. We regulary represent clients during 3rd party depositions throughout California and would be happy to speak with you further regarding our services and cost, etc. Feel free to contact me (phone, email) if you would like more information.

Regards,

Bryan
