Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Forced to use unsafe parking by employer

I work at a large escrow and realty company. Recently the staff was told that we would have to start parking across the street in a parking lot that has poor lighting and no sucurity for us or our cars. Not only is the parking lot unsafe, but the street we have to cross to get there is VERY busy. It has a turn right where we need to cross making it impossible to tell when cars are coming around the corner. Two of us have almost been hit trying to run across the steet. The cars travel at a high rate of speed. What can we do, the owners will not listen. There are no crosswalks or speedbumps in the street.

Thank you for your help.

Re: Forced to use unsafe parking by employer

Your employer can't control the traffic. You need to go to the city council and have the situation dealt with there.
