Is it illegal to post nude pictures of someone on the internet if the pictures were given to you?

Whether it is legal or not is not based upon whether yo took the pictures or got them from someone other than the person shown in the pictures. It is not illegal in the sense it is not a crime. but you are open to being sued for invasion of privacy. The simple test is would you want someone to do it to you, your sister, or your wife?
