Is it legal to carry a wooden sword or bokken in public in California?

The general statute on prohibited weapons is Penal Code section 12020. http://codes.lp.findlaw.com/cacode/PEN/3/4/2/1/2/s12020

The problem that I see is that while a bokken is not specifically listed, some law enforcement may consider it to be the same as a billy, which is prohibited. In other words, even a baseball bat could be considered prohibited.
