Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

If opposing counsel and I stipulate to continue the hearing on his demurrer and motion to strike, when do I have to file the opposition papers? Should I be recalendaring from the new proposed date or from the original hearing date? The case was fiiled in Central District of California, Los Angeles County.

Before you count on anything, make sure the court signs off on the new date.

The whole point of a continuance is to give you more time to prepare your oppositions and/or find an attorney. You would have to file your oppositions 9 court days before the new hearing date. Remember, though, that the court is closed the 3rd Wednesday of every month, so that doesn't count as a court day, nor do weekends.
