Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I have been in a relationship with a man for the past 16 years. We live in his house on his parents property. I\'m still in love with him, but he wants it to end. Through the entire 16 years together, I have never had to work outside of the home. I would drive tractor for him in the fields to help, but it wasn\'t a paying job. I have no vehicle of my own and no cash saved, im flat broke. He has been the provider from the start and now wants to move me out of his home and his life with nothing and no place to go. Are there any laws to help me or protect me in this type of situation ? \n\nIs there such a thing as \" Palamony \" ? I\'m scared and have no idea what im going to do, any advice would be greatly appreciated.\n\nThank you for your time,\n\nJoAnn Sevey

You would want to speak with a family lawyer or a civil litigator. Certainly, you gave up a career or pursuit of a career to tend to the house, his needs, etc. Even a family law mediator might convince him to, at least, provide for you for a period in the future. Good luck!

You may have a palimony claim especially if he is very well off, and he discouraged you to continue in your career. Contact me directly.
