Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

My son is a minor and purchased a car from a private party yesterday. Neither parent was home (me or his dad), this car was dropeed off, my son gave him his money and he left. I do not want this car here and feel my son has been ripped off.

Bottom line is: is it legal to sell a car to a minor. There was no contract signed and the pink slip was not done correctly either, the seller only signed the release of interest area, not the odometer statement.

The sale is voidable. Contact the seller and tell him to pickup the car and refund the money. If you get no action from the seller, file a suit against him.

More to the point, tackle your son and take the keys until he shows you proof of valid auto insurance.
