Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

are travel expenses to court collectible in small claims cases

I am being sued in small claims court to return the full rental security deposit. I will prevail in this action, so can I countersue to ask for my travel expenses to the court? I live over 700 miles and will have to fly, rent a car, pay for a hotel. The suit is basically frivilous, and is a form of harrassment by a disgruntled slobby tenant.
